Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American TV chef, and an former Institute of Culinary Education instructor, is a TV personality. Burrell hosts Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef and her signature spiky blond locks and pumped up appearance, offers easy techniques anyone can grasp. Chef Burrell was also employed by some of the top restaurants in New York, studied the culinary landscape and traditions of Italy and competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. While growing up in the upper reaches of New York area, Chef Burrell found a passion for food and cooking at an early age. She furthered her interest in the restaurant industry by enrolling at The Culinary Institute of America after earning a degree in English and Communications from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. I loved every minute of being a student at The Culinary Institute of America she says. I could not learn and do enough. Chef Burrell following her graduation from The Culinary Institute for Foreigners in Italy spent one year working in Umbria in Umbria at La Taverna del Lupo and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, the Michelin-starred restaurant. She gained a deeper understanding of Italian tradition and food throughout her time in Italy that has informed her culinary style. Burrell is a well-known ambassador in the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. Additionally, she is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which aids kids with disabilities. Her travels are frequent across the nation in her capacity as a mentor and the guest speaker who discusses her career and love of cooking. Through the course of her cooking career, Anne has often said that I am blessed to be able be able to share the passion I have for life with people.
